Can anyone help - I have an accessed Bikesafe ride on Saturday morning and have just noticed a nail in my front tyre.
Having just moved into the Grantham area I was wondering if anyone knows of a motorcycle tyre fitter in the area who can fit me a pair of tyres before Saturday morning.

Just a thought-------Can't you repair it with the BMW puncture kit.
I was in Scotland a couple of years ago on my R1150RT on a rally and just before breakfast I noticed this screw sticking out my back tyre, that's it! day ruined! no ride out with the other riders for me! when one of the lads said "don't worry, I'll sort it after breakfast.
10 mins it took him with one of those kits, reamer-glue-rubber insert-tyre re-inflated and I was on my way to a great day.
Last year I got a nail in the rear tyre of my F650GS twin (sold now for a 1200GSA) and I decided to do it myself and hey ho, 10 mins approx and it was done. Both tyres held air and I ran on them until the tyres were renewed, even went to the Isle of Man on the RT tyre after the repair.
If you haven't got a repair kit I wonder if anyone near you has.
(as a result I always now carry a small compressor and kit on my bike)

Give this guy a call - mobile 07923 522304 / 01775 840254 Tyres 4 Bikes. he provides a mobile service, I think he is local to me, near Boston / Spalding, believe he would cover your area. Found him to be really helpful and efficient, reasonably priced too. :thumb2

Many thanks guys for your help, it`s really appreciated.
Sidestand - I`ll give Grantham Honda a ring first thing tomorrow morning and see what they have to say, fingers crossed they can fit me in, and many thanks for the offer of the wheel.
Photographer - thanks for the phone number for the mobile tyre guy, thats definatley useful and has been put straight into the mobile.
Once again, thanks...............:thumb

For future reference - give Brian a call at BATS tyres in Oakham - he is a specialist motorcycle tyre fitter and MOT facility - outstanding service and superbly fitted/balanced tyres at a sensible price. Also lots of spares and advice if you need it.

And no - he's not my brother - just a really good bloke doing a great job.

I trust you got your tyres sorted Dave ?

Yes mate, arranged to have a pair fitted at Balderstons first thing in the morning. I`ve invested in a tin of tyre weld to see me over to Peterborough.
So fingers crossed.
Got a feeling of nervous apprehension about the observed ride, but looking forward to it all the same.
Thanks again for the offer mate......:thumb

Use Balderstons myself - excellent dealer :thumb2

If you have any trouble in the morning & can't get it inflated - let me know, I've got a trailer we can take it on. I'm on 07887 546103

Cheers Mick, managed to crawl my way down the A1 this morning but made it to Balderstons for 8.00am got the tyres fitted and managed to get them scrubbed in before my observed ride at 10.30am.
As to the Bikesafe observed ride, really enjoyed it, best £45 I`ve spent in a long while, would recommend it to anyone.
Just out of curiosity, are the many GS riders in the Grantham area.

Not far away, just outside Boston:thumb there are a few chaps around Peterborough who enjoy a ride out :thumb2

Hi - I'm in Oakham - just switched to the GS from a K1200S and enjoying it. Almost run in my 2011 bike - first service in a couple of weeks.

Pete

Must admit, I haven't seen many riding around Grantham. I've got my 1200GSA and an R80 GS, but there's a few get out to the Bike Night at Woodland Waters near Ancaster - held on the first Monday of the month - so a week tomorrow.
Could meet up with you there Dave - if you fancy an hour looking at the bikes & a drink & a burger :thumb2

Hi Photographer, we`ve met before, I recently moved from Peterborough and while living there I arranged a couple of ride-outs, one to Skegness where we experienced the joys of "Skeggy" and some fish & chips - remember........:thumb

I`d definately be up for that Sidestand, I`ll be on an `07` Black GS, what time do you tend to be there...:thumb
