Hi all,
Wondering if anyone has any experience, can't seem to find anything on Google or Youtube. I have a Denali Cansmart which I am going to fit to my GSA. The reason for fitting it is to run a Soundbomb which is straight forward but I also want to fit a Keiss heated clothing feed. The feed only has a fused live and a ground no switched live. I'm assuming I just cut the plug off one of the higher fuse relays and solder the Keiss output in. Can I connect the fused live to the switch live on the cansmart and tape off the spare wire? Or do I wire the fused live to the live feed from the cansmart so the feed is always live and remember to unplug every time?

TIA

I have Hex EzCan which is the same thing as Denali CanSmart. As far as I found out (and electronics is my profession), my Hex EzCan doesn't have permanent live feed output. It only has input that is fused and permanently connected to the battery. I also have a Soundbomb connected to EzCan, as well as two pairs of extra lights, remote garage opener, topbox brake light and extra accessory plug on the dash.
You should use the channel for extra accessory plug and choose correct power (ampers) when you program it. Just solder the connector to your heated clothing wires and that's it. Should be very simple.

A recommendation depends on the ambitions by using the CanSmart.

If the intentions are to prevent the Clothing to draw any current from the bike when the engine is not running, use the CanSmart to control a relay that will only provide power when engine is running, and connect the fused feed to the relay output, while the relay input is connected to the battery.

If the ambitions are to use the CanSmart as heatcontroller, connect the fused feeder to the selected CansSmart output, and the you may regulate the heat level from the bikes handlebars. (refer to the CanSmart manual )

In all cases, keep the feeder ground cable connected to ground.

I recently bought Keis heated gear, but just used the Keis provided fly lead direct to the bike battery and selected the correct fuse for jacket + gloves.. (10 amp I think).
Then I bought a CTEK extension cable from Halfords and snipped the end off it, put a Keis female socket on it and use it for maintenance charging the BMW. So now I can still plug in the crocodile clips to my CTEK charger and charge other vehicles... as the 'converted extension lead' is just used for the Keis fly lead equipped bike.
