Help with forum use

Sorry if this is the wrong place.

I do not seem to receive any emails when new posts are added to my subscribed threads.

Also when I subscribe to various threads after leaving the site and then returning, my subscribed threads have disappeared.

Can anyone tell me what is going wrong.

Hiya Ian, welcome aboard.

I'll move this to computer help, as that's perhaps more apt- we tyend to use technical help for bike related tech stuff

The emails for subscribed threads.......go to your user options and check that you've enabled the emails for subscribed threads there.....just subscribing from the individual thread won't do anything if that's not done.

If that's not it, check you have the correct email addy entered into the user options......

PS what makes you think your subscriptions have 'gone'??

TBH it's not something I ever use, and from speaking to others I doubt many do....the most common way of browsing the board is simply to click the 'view new posts' line at the top and read down the list........

Hmmm....interesting.

I hadn't tried subscribing to a thread before so I didn't quite know what to expect there ( Paul pays me an absolute obscene amount of money as a moderator to read every thread so it's no good to me )

It would appear that if you susbscribe to one, it then appears in your user options page....is that what isn't happening with yours???

You are right I do use the new posts button.

I have been using the VFR site for a few years now & I assume that this site is similar. Due to get my 1200GS on 1st March so now become very interested in this site.

Yes I was expecting to have the threads listed in the user CP. Then you can go back to those threads to re-read etc

I have ticked the email option in my user CP, when posting a thread do I also have to tick the email notification option as well? I was expecting this to be ticked by default according to my user cp.
