Me again. Got the exhaust to fit after getting my hands on another link pipe then attaching a rubber bung on the bottom to prevent the centre stand from hitting the swing arm.
Now before commiting myself to tightening the exhaust properly, hence why it appears a bit low in the pictures, I thought I'd try fitting the pannier frames first. I reckon I've got them on ok but notice that the right hand frame is vertical while the left hand frame is 'pulled' in from the bottom corner - as if the connecting arm is too short. By the time I get the pannier on, the leaning effect looks worse.
Secondly, the exhaust loop that holds up the silencer will not raise it high enough above the left hand pannier frame diaganol brace - there's about 2mm clearance, if that. The limiting factor is the arm that the exhaust loop hangs from - it cannot be raised any further. I could extend the bolt holes in the brace but figured I may be missing the point. I've seen loads of photo's of this set up but they do not have the diaganol brace - could be a new feature. Anyone else noticed this?
Finally, before you ask "why haven't you been in touch with MM?" Well I have but there's no answer and I need to know ASAP.
Oh yes, the link for the photo's is www.hiafi.co.uk/metalmule2
Thanks.
