ok, sounds like you've got the petrol and air sorted out....
I presume the inlet manifolds are tight/not perished and have the screws for the carb balancing in place
what sort of ignition is it? points and mechanical stuff or electronic?? I'd check the timing is set correctly, ensure that the advance retard mechanism is working fine and make sure that the setup is tight and not loose and finally check the plugs. next thing would be to check that the battery/charging circuits are ok,
does the starter motor turn over easily? this would check that the earth connection is fine. have you tried with the handlebars moved from left to right? just in case the ign/killl switch wiring is dodgy??

So I'm going to leave it alone untill the condensors arrive. checking the valve timing sounds like a good idea though.
I got a couple of carb rebuild kits and a tin of carb cleaner through the post today. I gave all of the hidden airway passages a good soaking and then left them for a couple of hours, rebuilt the carbs using the new seals and away she went. I've taken her upto 50 so far and everything seems ok but I suspect the mixture is slightly out, the jets are all standard and I have K&N's fitted...any ideas on what sort of increase I need in jet sizes? I was just going to try lifting the needle a notch.
