Hi all,

A while ago I bought some H & B engine bars and never found the time to fit them. I'd like to get on with the job, but I've lost the fitting instructions.

I've tried looking on the H and B website, ADVRider and using the search on here, but I can't find a link to the fitting instructions.

Can anyone help me out? The bike is an 1100 by the way.

Cheers,
DA

Just a couple of tips about fitting them.
Important - Do only one side at at time. Only try to fit it while the bike is on the centre stand.
The long bolts and spacers are the top bolts on the bracket that the footrests are on. DO NOT TAKE BOTH BOLTS OUT AT THE SAME TIME. The rear end will fall down:eek:
If you have difficulty in fitting either rear bolt it is because the gearbox has dropped about 3mm. Put a trolley jack or bottle jack under the gear box and gently just apply some upward pressure - place the jack under the mounting point for the rear shock. The bolt will slip in easily then. This is simpler than it sounds.
Torque the bolts up to between 20 and 40 nm.

If you are planning to adjust the valves I suggest you do this before fitting the bars. On some bikes it is hard to remove the cylinder heads with the bars in place. If you are going to change the alternator belt you have to remove the bars. Well you don't but it is a real hassle.

Hope that helps.

(with due thanks to Dave wildbeeste of this parish who originally sent them to me)

Thank you

A massive thank you to all who responded.

Anyone fancy popping down and lending a hand? :augie

Just sell them. They are a PITA and just get in the way. Better off getting some good quality head guards. :)
