It look to me, that my left hand engine bar could do with pushing in further towards the centre?

But there is a screw and I cannot seem to figure out how to get at the head of it?

The bars were already fitted to the bike, hence no instructions to look at.

Any ideas?

I've looked at photo's of the bars I fitted in 2005 and there's no where near the gap you have. One mine it must have been a bolt that had been welded onto the leading edge of the tube. Have you tried loosening the nut off and the rest of the bolts and see if the tube will go in a bit further?

I'll not post the photo as you'll probably not see anything worthwhile :o Unless I work out how to show the relavent bit.

Well thats the bit that has foxed me to be honest, the nut in question is tacked welded to the tube. :nenau

I can see the problem now, the "bolt" is in fact a Allen headed grub screw.

I have just undone the two lower mounting bolts and pushed the two miss aligned sections back together again.

The grub screw has a point on it, so when it is tightened grips the inner tube, hence the reason for the welded nut. Crap idea really isnt it?

I just need the torque setting for the two lower mounting bolts now, anyone?

Torque Values for H&B Bars

BTBR,
Having just fitted H&B Bars to my 12GS and being anal enough to keep the instructions, H&B recommend the following torque values dependant upon bolt size:
M6 = 12Nm
M8 = 27Nm
M10 = 40Nm
M12 - 48Nm
Hope this helps.
