Hepco & Becker Engine Guards -R1200GS

H & B Warning !!

Have had the H&B's for 3 years now - first time they took a minor hit from the front the frame over the head slipped out of the centre piece - the frame then bent back straight onto the head and was an absolute bastard to get back into shape - it is only held there by a stoopid grub screw. :spitfire

Drill out the grub screw and put a high tensile 5mm bolt / nylock nut completely through where the frame joins to the centre piece

Cheers Ben

Spacer sizes

Hi all,

I have recently acquired a second-hand set of these from "neil 23" here on this forum, but he lead me to believe all fittings were there. They were not  - I only seem to have half.

Anyway, I was hoping I can get the details of the bolts and spaces from someone, so I can source them myself - Motobins is quoting £25+vat for a full set of nuts and bolts

Thanks in advance.

get the fitting instructions off the H & B site (in german but still easy to understand) IMHO i think if you dont have all the spacers you need u should pay the £25, cant imagine anywhere you would pick these up.
Oh and i cant see anything wrong with the bars in the ops photo
heres mine

My brother-in-law is making me the spacers and I have a few bolts with the same thread. All I need is the sizes of the spacers.

Head covers and bars?? Why?

is a mystery to me as well

have H&B fitted on a 04 and they survived many many drops ........the paint is useless but they are only bars ,,so i don't worry to much about the corrosion as long as the connections and the welding looks unaffected

Pablo1 - or anyone else who might know - where did you get the protection plate in front of your engine cover? I saw someone on the ferry crossing from France yesterday with one and it looks like a really good idea.

Off topic slightly, sorry, but what do you use on your headers to keep them like that fella (SilverRat, I mean)?
