Is there anyone on here who has Hepco & Becker aluminium panniers on their 1150GS ?
I bought some and fitted them recently but I've got a couple of gripes -
1. The panniers seem to be set fairly high above the seat level and sit at an odd angle on the bike, pointing out towards the front. I can't work out why and it seems a bit unnecessary since the original exhaust dosent particularly interfere with the position of the panniers - it just looks a bit odd and not as convenient as the original panniers for strapping stuff accross the top.
2. The locks are pretty crap - the barrels fall out esily, and the cam lock which holds the pannier to the bike dosen't seem that convincing as its not a very positive fit.
Has anyone else had the same issues and has anyone made any mod's to improve them ?
Apart from that they seem to well built and finished.

I had them on my bike when I owned an 1150
I can't help you with the locks as mine always worked well however the panniers do sit high and are slightly flared at out at the back when mounted

I've been using a set for 3 years now and they have had some hammer. Generally very pleased with them. Yes locks are not wonderful in that keys for both panniers and top box are now universal but never had problem wiht barrel dropping out.
They do sit high and at an angle ie the tops tilt into the bike but doesn't seem to be a problem. No I've been pleased with mine and they have never let me down. Seem really well built and compared to the price of some of the others, very good value. Got mine at Motobins on one of the sale days so you get 10% off Worth it on this sort of investment.

H & B Panniers

Cheers, thats exactly what I did, got 'em in the sale.
So long as theres no long term prob's thats the main thing. Thought I had heard somewhere that folk change the locks, so wondered what with....?
