Having had the Hepco Becker engine bars on since new, I thought I'd treat myself to the tank bars after getting what will probably be the last KPI bonus my company gives out. As some people have been asking after them recently I thought I'd take a few piccies after I fitted them last weekend (also because it got its 5th since new so looked pretty good...I had been meaning to wash it...really...
).
In all its new-found glory...

Front on shot...

Lower mounts on the HB engine bars...

Top mounts are U-bolted to the support bars for the oil cooler. The U-bolt is a little long so I trimmed the topmost, hard to get at leg, but left the bottom one as it might make a handy mount for a bracket later on.

Side shot showing clearance between bars and side-panels. Looks like they will come off (just) without removing the bars.

All up a fairly easy install, with the only fiddly bit getting the nuts on the U-bolts under the cooler. If you removed the beak it would be a doodle but I was just too lazy. Once tightened up the whole show feels very solid. My only worry was the possibility of a severe sideways hit bending the cooler supports where the top brackets mount, but a hit that big would probably do damage to that area anyway.
