Ladies and Gents of this forum good afternoon

brand new on the forum and brand new in the world of motorcycles as well!!

After 20 years riding scooters of all sorts.... and caught in the middle (maybe the beginning) of a middle age crisis I decided to go for a big one. Any chance of making a smooth entrance in the world of motorbikes??? NONE!!!
So here I am walking into the BMW showroom in London...5 minutes sitting on the bike...20 min talking to one of the BMW guys....and the paper were signed:beerjug:!!!

Have I evere ridden a motorbike before??? NEVER other than a Vespa 150cc with gears on the handle (that granted me after a couple of years a full A driving licence)

Am I too crazy?? Maybe yes :P

But now the babe is here (got it last Monday) and even if I have a feeling that 90% of the times she is driving me and not vice versa, I feel like I ve never been happier than now!!!!

Riding her is pure pleasure, just sitting on her makes me happy, not to mention...looking at her!!!

And considered how beginner I still am...It can only be better and I can only be happier!!!

So ladies and gents of this forum (but mostly GSers in London) if you see one of this slowing you down (mostly at light stops....still have to get fully familiar with the clutch) be patient and merciful!!!

And in a short while I really hope to meet you out there for a nice ride!!!

Ciao

nice and congrats

Same as riding a Vespa 150 really - just a bit heavier to pick up when you drop it - so make sure that you don't! :D

P.S. not quite so easy to dodge through the London traffic on, so take care and good luck!

Good luck to you my friend. The 1200 WC is a very easy bike to ride so you should be fine.

For reference, my best mate watched one episode of the long way round with me - passed his bike test 2 months later and set off for a solo round the world trip shortly afterwards on an 1150.

Enjoy:thumb

Watch that drain cover when you pull away!!!!!!! :D

P.S. Welcome and enjoy!

Nice intro and lovely looking ride. I'm sure you are going to enjoy every second ;)

Welcome to the site. An excellent choice on the bike - you will not regret. Do not forget to wear ear plugs though!

Wellcome chap:thumb2

Well done King Ari - the lads at Battersea can be v persuasive. She is a great looking machine - but not as lovely as my TB, picked up in Sept 12 having had a near 25 year break from bikes. Still upright and still carrying the biggest smile! Based in S London so will give a wave when passing - enjoy

My first bike was also a 1200 GSA and still enjoy every minute of it. Safe riding and enjoy.

Thanks everybody for the welcome!!!:P
Next couple of steps..will be putting some nice miles under the belt....but mostly....trying to increase a bit the average speed cause since I have the bike...the computer says 12.8mph ov average speed.....that's a real shame!!!:barf

Have a nice weekend everyone!!

ciao
