Does any one fancy a gentle ride through the lanes on a weekend/early evening before the nights start drawing in?

I don't have any particular route in mind and I am open to any suggestions.

I know a few lanes local to where I live in Potters bar/Welham Green. I have ridden the lanes over at Offley but can't figure out a rational route.

Tommy

You'll have to count me out - I'm spread a bit too thinly between now and mid-October!

:o

I would be out for a ride out, I am based in Barnet, and also have a proper offroader :)

Only caveat is that I can only do Saturday

Tommy, Ace boy,

Short notice opportunity... A few of us will be leaving the Mullbery Cafe tomorrow at 9:00 sharp with a goal to do a both directions double loop - 200miles!

This will be a safe but making progress ride - if this is what you fancy then come prepared, 1st stop will be after 70 miles.

If you want to meet on route we will be riding anti clockwise first taking the lanes out towards Essendon and Hertford and then up to Ardeley back down to Waton on Stone, across to Whitwell up to Luton and back down via Wheathampstead.

The reverse loop will start from the John Bunyan http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=519010&y=212657&z=0&ar=Y

I would expect to pass here around 1:00 where we will head down to Redbourn Mill Ford and do a couple of new lanes north of Redbourn before heading clockwise

Can't make this one I'm afraid. Had a hernia operation this week - probably caused by picking the bike up too often :(. You'll be way too fast for me anyway by the sound of it. Weather looks great so have a good time :thumb

..if any of you boys have any GPS routes of the area I would love a copy of it if you can PM me I will send you my email.

Cheers Mermoto :beerjug:

Bummer, just got home, and seen this :( Wreyford do you still have my mobile number ?

Sorry wreford I just seen this too. Also the bike is sick at the moment not quite sure whats wrong with her.

Thanks

Wref

thanks for a great days riding

good brisk pace

just checked the track log 296 km :thumb2

my trip showed 196 Miles to home... Which when compared to Richard's GPS track would mean my trip is about 5% fast

a good training ride for next March, next time I'm keen for a 300 mile ride without the two punctures and a water locked engine!

Checked the fuel consumpion on the X Challenge - 79mpg!!!

Next ride I'll plan a little more in advance
