Who's up for a gentle amble around the Green Lanes of Hertfordshire this Sunday (Bank Hol weekend - so you can wash you steed on Monday)?

Let's say meet up at South Mimms Service Area (M25) at 10.00hrs Sunday morning.

As the better weather is here, either a pogo-stick or a well-riden GS should be manageable.

Could well be up for this run out. How long will you be out for?

Last time, play was pretty much stopped at lunchtime by a puncture (mine!), with a fair wind, we'll probably be on our way home by mid-afternoon with 50 or so off-tarmac miles under our belts.

You'll not be bringing the Lambretta will you?

I will see if I can get a pass out, suppose to be doing a bit of decorating over the weekend. Pay back time for a free weekend at the BMF.

I am away with work for the next couple of days so will confirm Friday morning.

Bugger!!!

I've got the girls this weekend.....shame it's not Monday 'cos I could do that.

Greg, you just know I'd love to join you guys.............but, we're at a wedding the day before and staying over in a hotel, so that lets me out. PLUS, I'm still hurting from the VERY challenging off-raod day led by Roy yesterday all around Surrey.

Still, ENJOY...........!!!;)

I am up for a run out if it is still on.

We're still on for 10.00hrs at South Mimms and, having spoken this morning, we may be joined by at least one who previously said he wasn't coming.

Great, I will PM you my mobile just in case there are any problems on route

Would that perchance be my ex? Bill "but you told me not to come up this weekend" Oates? Or Mister "But you said you didnt want to go to Europe" Oates?

You take good care of him Greg, don't you be leading him under any nasty great petrol tankers or down any steep cliffs or anything eh?

I hope it was worth it Fan

Five of us, none of whom had previous family commitments (as I understood it), rode out yesterday and had a good time.

The only problems were:

  • finding a pub that offered nose-bag (failed in that one!)
  • One of our number managed to drop his house-keys which involved 20 miles of back-tracking to look for them (not found!)
  • My own heavy face-plant leaving me nursing a wrenched thumb (not my tossing hand as one wag pointed out! jerkit)
  • Finally, we'll have to have a whip-round for a new chain for the XR200 - lest we wake the dead on our next ride-out!

Greg

Great day out.

Cheers Greg for leading the way.

OK, new chain on order, having said that, a new bike would be better.

You probably need a slightly longer chain.

The one you have is on full-stretch (making noises like that, it had to be!), but I noticed that your snail adjusters were down towards the 'short' end of their adjustment range.
