Hertfordshire Wombat Hunt - Sunday 19 March 2006

I'm in, 1150 GS on TKC 80s. Will avoid the deep stuff but mud is good.

Unless the all day rugby-fest on Saturday results in too strong a hangover.

Make sure that you have sufficient space in front to avoid anyone who takes a tumble (or who is just parked up waiting for the group – NB snoopy please note!!)

Make sure that you dont stop directly in front of an area where someone may need to accelerate to clear some rough.

MMmmmm

Looks like I may well be free on Sunday and have a pretty new 525 EXC that needs a bit of a workout. However, as its all pretty new to me, I don't have the tools (or the experience) yet to take the bike to bits and put it back together on a lane.

So can I come please....

...And if I drop it in a pond, will someone help!? :)

If you do come, it'll be pretty second-hand by the end of the day!

There are at least two other KTMs (inc a 525 I think), so one would hope that at least one of them would have the requisite tools (this issue comes about because on last week's reccie, Dave dropped his 520 in the drink and flooded the engine. Although we were able to get the tank off to access the plug, we couldn't get the plug out with the tools we had. It took a fair old bit of kicking the muther to get it started!)

If you drop yours in the water, there is a mandatory piss-taking period (double as your is a new bike) before assistance is offered.

Look forward to seeing you at South Mimms!

:D

I've blagged a small stock of waterproof socks - but only medium size - £10 a pair - can bring them with me tomorrow.

Send me a PM if interested.

Do you know that there are 2 other good river crossings near Standon. Just below it in fact. They are both worth a look.

Anyone got some flex tubing to fit the air intake? I've tried everywhere today to get some. :(

Isn't Blue Sweeper on his HP2?

Maybe/maybe not - I spoke with him this evening, and it depends on the weather/his mood/what he's wearing etc
