For those of us who haven't got unlimited dinero to spend.
http://www.canyonchasers.net/shop/generic/relay.php nice little site..

I was looking for a neater low cost solution but cant seem to find a unit offerred in the UK with three fuse outlets similar to this one below.Even a source for the fuse unit alone that doesnt have bare connections around it seems hard to find.

$54.95 for the 3 fuse switched version [plus import duty]

Thanks Fredaroony for this thread. I'm waiting with baited breath for the XR version....:D

They sent out a firmware update recently to add the K1600 so hopefully the XR wont be far off. I'll shoot you a message if I see another update come through with XR compatibility

Sorry if I missed it somehwhere what was the total cost including import duty for the device?

True but it works and I like solving probs myself ( it's not rocket science to wire in a few connections) that's what I did out in the field/sea when I was a tech. Plus I use spare money for trips/fuelling my bike not expensive bits I can do without. Of course everyone to his own to do what he wants.

Yes but it works for what you want and there is nothing wrong with that. However, you have not replicated what an EZcan is capable of for £12 and made something far less sophisticated.

Wow £185 was that the price? Glad I made my own for £12 worked fine and dandy.

So can your £12 device do the following..

- Utilise existing BMW Switchgear so no additional hardware needed
- Utilise Inline BMW wiring harness, so no cutting, splicing or voiding warranty
- Fully waterproof electronics
- Provide User Interface to program features like Auxiliary Spotlight Intensity between modes like Dipped, Main and Daytime Running.
- Provide User Interface with inline programmable Fuse circuit breaking
- Provide accessory power outlet (with customisable fused circuit rating 2,3 or 4 amp) with timeout facility after ignition is stopped, and easy reset feature without needing or buying extra fuse blades.
- Provide Auxiliary lights that turn off the same side when Indicator is used.
- Provide intelligent auxiliary additional Brake Lights that blink when G-Force deceleration (engine Braking) exceed custom programmed criteria

If so, let everyone know your PayPal address and expect some orders.

If not, what part of the above can you actually do for £12

Forgive me for a touch of sarcasm but I don't need gimmicks the old BM is techy enough for me to handle the canyonchaser setup ( which works cheaply) does all I want and is simple I don't need techy setups thank you.
I had enough of those working as a Baader tech in the wild and woolly fish industry I'm a retired old guy now and my hi-tech is looking after my Linda.

. Well said. Anyone, even me, can make up a simple harness and power it from the battery for £12.

Forgive me for a touch of reality...

So you made a bit of wire. Stuck it on another wire.

£12

Ok then.... :blast

Based upon the S.Africa option it looks to me as if you're on the wrong end of £185 for the unit plus £55 for the import duty. So £240 all in.

Yeah but don't go saying you've made the same thing for £12 when it's clearly nothing like it. Not sure why you even bothered posting in this thread to begin with other than to make a snarky remark.

Is a further advantage that it removes the "permanent live" option if your lights are wired direct to the battery i.e. stops someone walking by and switching the spotlights on. :nenau

Well I'm not being snarky I mentioned the website as a simple non canbus way to power auxiliary sockets.
Some of us haven't got £240 to spend and yes it's not high tech but my horn,satnav/ phone, heated jacket works gosh where did I go wrong in my biking thinking? perhaps I'm just one of the old school of hard up bikers.

Well maybe you should make a "Look what I made for £12" thread instead of posting unrelated stuff in this one. No one cares if you don't need the extra features of the EZCan.

Yes that's right.

Anyone 'walking by' can't access any of the features the HEX EZCan is connected to. Only when the ignition is live.
