HEX GS-911 available for 2002 1150 GSA

Hi, I am having issues with the ABS warning lights on my R1150 GSA (2002) and am looking for anyone who might have a Hex GS-911 that I could plug into my bike to see why, after replacing the front ABS sensor, the warning lights are still there (even after resetting the ABS).

Ideally, down near the Tunbridge Wells area of Kent/East Sussex or also in Derbyshire.

As a 2002 It could be a late ABS 2 or simply a Servo version (Whizzy brakes)

Why did you change the front sensor in the first place ??

How are you clearing the codes ? Method ?

If its is ABS 2 a simple flash tester will give you the codes

I changed the front brake sensor because the warning lights were flashing and someone with a HEX, plugged it in and it said the front sensor needed replacing.

I've tried two methods. In the diagnostic plug, adding a wire between the 2nd and 4th pin then holding the ABS button down for 10 seconds, then turning off the ignition and then running the engine and moving the bike past 2.5mph. Also trying the same but just the pin 2 and connecting that to the earth.

If it helps, it's the cylindrical black diagnostic plug and inside has 6 active pins.

Press and Hold ABS button

Switch Ignition ON

ABS button held down for 20 ~ 30 seconds

IGN off

Release ABS button

Check what happens when Ign switched on ?

Same thing happens as before.

The Brown/blue trace is pin 2. I can't have the ABS button pressed before the ignition is turned on because nothing happens to trigger trying to reset the ABS.

Once I have turned the ignition on then press and hold the ABS button does the lower warning light stay on. After I hold that for 20-30 seconds and then turn off the ignition and back on again, the two warning lights flash between each other, top then botton then top.

I'm going to take the ABS sensor off again just to check the gap is correct (again) but want to check with a GS-911 if the same fault comes up.

Yes, the lower ABS light stays on when ABS button is pressed.
You want both ABS lights flashing in unison to indicate reset is successful.
I usually need to hold the ABS button for at least 20secs.
The sequence I used - just last night. Earth the diag pin, ign on, press ABS button, release ABS button. Then I have to experiment if the pin earth should be disconnected before or after switching ign. off.

If you have an LED test probe you can determine the error by counting the *short* LED flashes. Connect it to the same diag pin.

I'll give that a try too. Subtle changes. I'm not getting the flashing in unison after the reset. It's just back to what it was before. I'll try for longer than 30 secs and keeping it pressed (and not) until ignition turned off too. I don't have an LED lying around to make a test probe sadly.
