Can I please ask anyone who knows whether I can retro-fit a pre 2010, single cam- engined R1200GS’s complete exhaust system straight onto a 2010 Twin Cam, assuming I do away with the flappy valve of course? Many thanks
No . Provided that the lambda sensors are still in circuit the ecu will adjust the fuelling in closed loop to an AFR of 14.7 to 1 and the long term trims will learn from the short term trims to correct the fuelling in open loop.
If you want to adjust the fuelling from 14.7 to 1 to your preferred mixture then fit a pair of AF-XIED`s.

John Gemi said he can ‘flash’ the R1200GS ECU’s. Has anyone had any experience of his efforts in this regard I wonder, as I know first hand how good his replacement chips are for the earlier models........
