A friend of mine is racing at the TT in the 600 Side Cars; race number 64 rider is Tom Guest Passenger Rupert Guest. Yes they are brothers, both are sergeants in the army & this is a Army backed out fit so the side car is painted in a Union Jack with a Army be the best logo their in the main pits in a army field tent.

So if you’re going over & get a picture of them in action could you forward it to me?

I’m over from the 3rd to the 8th on the GS to catch both races.

They have qualified

They have qualified Tom & Rupert that is. With a 90.4 average lap a bit down on the leaders who are over 110.0 average but not bad considering that’s its from their second practice session, their only other practice has been on a PS2 TT game.

how they got on

Saturdays first race DNF they had a puncture on the second lap. Were then collected by the recovery truck which then went on a mystery tour they got back to the pits at 9.15pm.

Second race yesterday another DNF with a fractured oil cooler on the first lap they got as far as Ramsey.

The out fits take a real pounding Tom’s quote well the edited version " The only part of me in contact with the out fit is my hands on the run in to Ramsey"

As any of you know that have been over to the IOM it’s a fantastic spectacle been only a few feet away from the edge of the road as the bikes go buy. I watched from the church at Union Mills, the ladies of the WI had home made cakes & tea out of china cups! on tap all very civilized.
