Hi all, just checking in to say hello.

Having recently had my 1990 Super-Tenere stolen I am looking for a replacement. I've always dismissed GS'es as overprices, agricultural and belonging to aloof owners. I know that sounds insulting but that says more about my own misconceptions, and I'm now finding myself inextricably drawn to them! (the bikes, not the owners!)
My budget will limit me to 1100 or 1150's so I'm scouring eBay, autotrader, PH and now here.

I'm hoping to get a payout shortly so that I can do more than look with no real ability to buy.

I plan to read through this site thoroughly and expect that I'll be a fellow owner before too long.

Speak to you later

Welcome aboard!

Normally I wouldn't talk to the likes of you, but it's my job.

;)

Don't dismiss the 1100 in favour of the newer model. A late 1100 can be a very well sorted beastie. The best GS I've ever had was my 75th Anniversary 1100 and if some myopic tw@t hadn't sent it to the knackers yard I'd probably still have it. Having said I fookin lurv my 1150ADV. Welcome aboard.

You say that like you now think that opinion is misplaced, speaking purely from my own view seems spot on to me.

Welcome to the forum.

There is no denying that the 1150gs is a two wheeled tractor, it is though one of the best handling all round tractors you will ever find.
Hence why they still have quite a staunch following.

There frequently 1150's for sale on here, infact there is one now, though you have to be a subscribed to access the forsale pages.

To be honest I wish I'd joined here first before buying my bike I would have got a better bike fo less money in most instances.
