Can anyone help me? I was reading an article about the EWS antenna ring failing on the GS and was wondering if anyone knows how much they are and where is the best place to buy. Common fault apparently. Thanks Sam.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about but as you ride a 1200 I'll pop your thread over to that section where I think you'll get a little more help there

How old is your bike?

EWS problem largely resolved a while back and loads replaced by BMW when they went in for a service as matter of course.

Only place to source a new ring antenna is from BMW, unless you get someone selling a spare on here.

If I recall correctly most of the 07/08 models were recalled to have the EWS changed, mine certainly was, the Fuel Pump Controller (FPC) was also done on a lot of the same bikes. I don't think an EWS is mega bucks although it is a BMW part only, some folks going on trips to remote areas often carried a spare to get them away in the event of failure along with an FPC, which I've always carried but never used.........................yet!

Ring antenna is around £45 from BMW parts.

I'd advise you get them to fit it but at what cost I do not know.

To long to reply to you all. Sorry.

I had a lot of problems with my computer and ended up hitting it with a sledge hammer. Not recommended on any I.T. forums but it worked for me cause at last I have a new one.

Anyhow I have sorted the EWS antena ring and now carry a spare just incase.
Oh and thanks to all who have welcomed the new tosser.
