Hi All,

Were about to depart for a couple of weeks in France, Italy :beerjug:

I just wanted to know what the upto date requirements are for travel through France?

They seam to change on a weekly basis :blast

Any advice much appreciated :thumb

No to breathalyzers - on hold
Same for flouro clothing
But you are meant to have four reflective sticks on you helmet ....

Practice your Gallic shrug and take a pack of galloises with you and you'll be fine

Hi-viz breathalysers . Furfeckssake ... what the hell are the French thinking.

Obligatoire: tee shirt with horizontal hoops, black beret, string of onions; Optionnel: for the more racy, sans cullottes...

Following my experience today you'd be much better off worrying about prioritie a droit than yellow gilets.

6 reverse gears, 1 forward?
Off to France myself in two weeks, based in Chatel. I'll not buy the hi vis for the bike then, but will have them in the car, with ze breethalizers, as I'm trailering the bikes down there this time.... I think my Twat suit has reflective bits on it anyway.

I'm fed up with repeating myself. You need:
  • A helicopter
  • 100,000 pounds
  • A complete set of steak knives... in the presentation box
  • Seven tickets to see the Brazilian National Mime Theatre at the Riverside Studios
  • A little can terrier named Bobby
  • One of them little black rubber things, you know them little black rubber things that go "nee nee nee nee", yeah, a big box full of them, right
  • The complete memoirs of Donald Sinden

I queried the helmet sticker thing with colleagues on French motorcycle mags and they confirmed that they've had increasing numbers of French riders contacting them to say they'd been fined for NOT having the stickers on their helmets. So it may be more on the gendarmes' radar. However, it seems to be enforced in some areas but not all areas (usually in cities) and they weren't hearing of police stopping riders for not having the stickers on the lids: it seemed to be something added on when riders had already been stopped for something else - usually speeding - in a kind of "while I've got you, I might as well give you two tickets, not just one" style...
