HID high beam OR ABS- not both!

Last night doing the National Road Rally I noticed an interesting glitch.

I have 35w HIDs in high & low beams.
When I put high beam on my ABS light came on. And stayed on. It all reset when I turned the ignition off & on again.
When I ignored it I got a "Lamp" warning light.
When I ignored that the speedo dropped to zero.
I wasn't brave enough to ignore that!
Switch ignition off & on again - all better!

HIDs should have a resistor in circuit to bring the total current draw to 50w so the canbus system doesn't realise you've replaced the standard bulb.

Who did you buy from and what have they said?

The kit was fitted by a nice bloke called Barry in Manchester (as recommended by my local Hein Gericke).
He's going to "sort it"- I'll keep you posted as to what that entails.

So am I the only person to whom this has happened?

The battery should be in good nick. It's only done 8k miles /12 months, and is plugged into an Optimate when I'm bored.
