Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone can help , I fitted an HID conversion kit purchased from motorbike adventures , just recently the dipped beam is illuminating intermittently.

I cannot find the wiring diagram from the company , has anyone got one or access to the wiring diagram or can anyone explain the intermittent illumination.

The bike is a 2003 R1150 GS .

Thanks

To clarify. Do you mean it's flickering? Also not clear when you say you fitted it but need a writing diagram? It's pretty straight forward-looking no?... Have you let it warm up properly, it can take a while for the bulb to settle down from new. If it's new, not been used yet then give it a couple of days use first.

I had this on mine and was simply a poor connection - I would start by checking them over and make sure all soldered well. My main beam still flickers if the bike is not running but always works fine once the bike is running.

I found a geeky article online about how HID lights should not be powered on until the engine is running. It was techy and nerdy and I can't remember where it was, but I took heed and always start my 1150 and let it run for a minute or so before switching my HID lights on - I have main and dip converted HID, and converted both my spots too... - and no problems at all.

As Slipperyeel states, they not only need a little time to power up fully, they will also change colour slightly over time.

I love them. The best light set up I've ever had, and it makes the 2 hour journey back from trips to my folks through B roads a real pleasure and way less tiring late in the evening and through winter.

Check the basics - connections and general fit, but also put your battery on charge before your next run, and start your bike with all powered off, including heated grips / sat nat / microwave etc if you can.

Bonne chance!

Hi guys thanks for all the replies , I think the problem is a battery that is low on charge as the ABS light remained on the other day.
I have a model where the dipped beam is always on . Will check all connections as well while charging battery.
Thanks.

you could always add your own switch to the live feed of the dip ( do it through a relay of course to stop any arcing) that would sort out the always on dip :)
