I have HID'd wifey Transalp but have yet to do the Dak.

It will fit, the unit is an H4 with a solonoid to switch instantly between hi and lo with no delay.

Impressed with the Tranny, you lose a little of the close up beam on full but a small set of fogs fill it in nicely. Certainly worth doing.

Be very careful of ebay items, they are often cheap for a reason. Les's kit is only a bit more, no fear of being hit with import duty (I was caught on the first HID kit I ever bought!!!!) and Les's kit comes with a super tiny ballast which is very important with the Dak/GS as space is very hard to find. These ballass are small enough to velcro to the fairing panel without problems.

No wires need cutting, very simple plug and play more or less.

I think less could help you extend the main feed wire (23,000 volts+:eek::eek:) not a job I would recommend you do yourself.

PM the Wassall man and see what he can do for ya, he's a top bloke who makes close to feck all when you consider the work required to source the right kit, invest in stock, and sort out useless tossers who can't be arsed to do the job themselves :augie Far safer than ebay IMHO.

i've got 4 on my dak. :D

none on the standard headlight tho, replaced with a touratech setup.

if you run out of ideas for mounting the ballast there's space for a ballast on top of the relay box (where touratech mount there's) and space for another under the oil tank on the l/h side (that's mickys idea)

If you buy the wonderlich battery two standard size HID's will fit on top. I have four HID ballasts fitted and 3 bulbs, waiting on the H7 to arrive.

I also have the Touratech setup.
