Hello,

Has anyone fitted a HID lighting kit to a R1200GS Adventure with Canbus (mine is a mark II 2008)?

Any recommendations as to which one (manufacturer)?
Do they work as well as claimed?
35 or 55 watt?
600K or 1200k?
Both lights or just low beam, any recommendations?
Are they straight forward to fit?

I am confused by all of the claims by different manufacturers and specifications, any ideas out there?

Cheers,
Tony.

Hi Tony,

I strongly suggest you look no further than Les Wassell of this parish. Search for 'HID50.com' on this site or google.

Tony,

The canBus on my early 2009 is a right pain in the whatsit !, the dreaded LAMPF message just wouldn't go. in the end it seemed mine would only accept fat boy (explorer type I think they are known as) ballast, but it works a treat and hasn't missed a beat since installation.

I have it attached to a neat under oil cooler mount with a ceramic core 35w bulb, which is excellent !

I left the High beam alone, but added an LED to the side light to match it up a bit.

And all supplied along with superb support from Les, you can't go wrong !

+1 for Les too - had both low and high beam done with the all singing all dancing 50w ceramics - best money I've spent on the bike so far - I can see at night and every t**t in a car can see me coming!!!
