HID Question what colour are you running

What are you guys running on your HID's, i have tried both 4300K and 6000K dip and main beam think i opted for the 6K ones in the end on the CBF1000. However about to fit the setup to the beemer and wanted to see what worked best for people.

6000k on both. Beam tester set up so no issues from other drivers , just brilliant where there are no streetlights

I have a full set of 6000k all round on my 2010 GSA main, dipped and spots all fitted by Mr Wassell's
had them now getting on 5 years without any problems of dazzle to others both on coming and those that I approach from behind and no problems either when it goes for its MOT

there is only one way to do it and that's the right way

Has anyone tried the latest high power LEDs? It's said they've solved the focus problems but have they really and do they compete with HID?

Not on a BMW but I have the cyclops ones in my KTM. The cutoff isn't as sharp but it is only very slightly fuzzy. Light output is good, easy as good if not better than HID and of course they are instant on. No warmup phase which means they are good for high beam. I was going to put my LED spots on that I took off my GSA but I am not going to bother, there just isn't any need. Might change my mind when it gets proper dark and wet though.

I have my doubts about those linked too ones. They might be absolutely OK (no experience of them) but they are the only high power LED bulbs I have seen (that work properly) that don't have some form of cooling.

I have some Chinese LED spots in place of the OEM auxiliary headlights. The spots have a fancy frame that looks protective but 2mm aluminium wont be a great benefit. They are however very powerful with a narrow angle long range beam that supports main beam very well. I have HID on main beam so the spots are hardly necessary but cars have two headlights so the extra light is still nice to have.

For daylight use, I have a pair of 2" diameter LED floods angled to avoid dazzling other people. The work with dipped beam because I believe the three light triangle is more visible in traffic. The long range type don't seem to dim very well so I can't simply dim them for dipped/daylight use.

It was me who bought ding dong's HID kit that was for sale.
They were a 50w 6000k dip and main beam kit from Mr Wassal and I've just installed them this evening. Fantastic!
Still have the spots in front of my eyes after testing them!
I had intended buying a kit from Les and had been in touch with him when these came up for sale. Sorry Les.
Les was very helpful with advice and his kit was very straight forward to install. Very pleased with the result.
If you are going HID, he's the man to talk to.
LED's are improving all the time. Bought a couple of mains bulbs lately and they are quite good. Early days for headlights though.

I have got the 5000 from Les on dipped only which is great. I have tried HID on the main beam before but a) found it too slow to react and b) the light went everywhere apart from where I wanted. On my current TC I fitted a standard halogen Philips Extreme bulb which is much improved over the standard and give a whiter light. I have put LED bulbs in the aux lights as an experiment....had them for about 2000 miles now and boy what an improvement. So much so that I am thinking of trying LED for the main. I have to say that I think the days of Xenon are numbered based on results I have had so far.
