I got some spanky new light fitted to my 1200 GSA by Les on Thursday. Got some 50w ceramic HIDs on my dip and high beam, with the fast ballast on the high beam, and 35w HIDs in in the AUX lights. Absolutely delighted with them. Have ridden on some dark windy roads since fitting and the performance is amazing.

We had some issues with fitting, my bike has a duff earth connection to one of the AUX lights, but after a bit of time troubleshooting Les got that sorted.

Top man Les.

Les,

I have one of your full kits on my GSA and now require a HID just for the dip beam my K1300R, do you supply these? and if so how much?

Cheers

Yes no problem, I will pm some details over and Ceramic core bulb prices :)

Hi Les have got a 2010 GS1200 and would like to got the HID route on dipped beam, could you let me know a price please and do you use shielded bulbs ? Ta

Les

thank you sir

You fitted a pair of HIDs today to my 1150 GSA
excellent service... :)
Despite the dodgy height adjusting thingummy (which you spent ages on) I took great pleasure this evening in riding home in a manner only usually taken by the angel gabriel...

Blindingly good service :)

Top bloke, brilliant lights, excellent bacon buttie

I've had a fault with my HID's on a '05' GS for a few years now - instrument power failing momentarily when switching on the main beam.

I contacted Les and he has responded very quickly and been flexible about fitting me in at short notice. After taking a rain check last weekend due to the gale force winds, I ventured out on Sunday .....still getting blown about on the Ashbourne/Leek/Congleton roads !

Taking apart the old set-up identified some corrosion and Les diagnosed the fault as being a dodgy ballast unit. 2 hrs later, I'm the proud owner of a completely new set up and also Les fixed some questionable bodges and basically completed a really good job that should keep me going through the dark months for a few more years.

This post is to recognise a job well done by someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about HIDs and provides an excellent customer service.

Bacon butties on white bread from Mrs Wassall just put the icing on cake - I think she should be awarded at least 1 Michelin star !

Best regards
Tony (Leicester)

Guess I screwed it up somehow...

Hi,
I bought the HID kit to convert the dip beam on my 2005 R12GS last autumn. Installed it and was amazed by the great light, but my installation was not as amazing. It did not look nice and I had placed the ballast too close to the rev. counter, which caused the rev counter to show wrong reading at every engine start.

Anyway, I had only one daytrip with the new HID until I put the bike away for the winter. The winter gave me enough time to re-locate the electric bits of the HID kit to get distance from the instrument cluster and also install things more nicely.

Today, on my first trip after the winter, at every engine start, when the control system checks the light, it shows the bulb symbol with an arrow upwards, indicating that the front light does not work (which it really does not):blast

This is what I did during the winter:
- I left the HID-"bulb" installed and did not open the lamp cluster.
- I disconnected all the outside components of the HID kit from each other and relocated them.
- Finally I connected all the connectors again (the way they are made seem to make it impossible to connect incorrectly)

Later I disconnected the battery and charged it ever once in a while.

Has anyone experienced something similar or would be able to point me to where and what to check (I have checked all connectors, also in the lamp cluster and did not find anything wrong)?

I'm sure its something I did wrong, but can't figure out how to approach this. I would not like to start to buy new components as you may imagine without even knowing what is wrong and why...:nenau

Any help is highly appreciated.

Kind regards
Jogo

Check the battery

Had a lampf on my 1200 it started as an intermittent fault but got worse to the point where I called in on Les to have a new ballast fitted, low and behold when I arrived at Les`s place the bloody thing was on -- changed it any way and had a fast high beam fitted happy bunny now:aidan

The fast bright ballasts are top gear for high beams, it's like having a halgeon only 100x brighter.

Today I fitted the Canbus-35 to my GS, took a few hours which included making up a bracket. Took me a while to working out how to get the 30mm HID bulb through the 24mm hole I'd drilled!

Les replied to all my emails very promptly and the lights arrived the following day.

Thanks Les you're a top bloke who deserves a successful business.

Steve

Here's a video I took (through the screen) showing the Canbus-35 in the low beam only.

Excellant video DervMan, show how good the HID lights are :thumb2
