HID50.com exclusive

Just fitted mine yesterday. The sidelight bulb pulls straight out of the assembly with the rubber grommet. I used a pair of long nosed pliers to grip top and bottom of the grommet rather than risk pulling on the wires.

Usual high standard of kit from Les by the way. He was thoughtful enough to write on the box what one was dipped beam as given a 50/50 chance I would fit them the wrong way round you can bet there was 100% chance I would get it wrong. Even then I struggled to figure out that the main beam was the opposite way up from the dipped beam. Put on my glasses and it all became obvious. Switched on the lights then walked round the front of the bike to check. The ophthalmologist says the holes burned in my retinas might heal given enough time.

A gent by any measure!!!

Les,

Thanks for helping (mere suggestion that I did anything) on Saturday, the ride back (A51 & back roads) was a far more illuminated experience than the ride up:eek:

I was nothing but impressed and indeed pleased to see someone work on somebody else's bike as if it were their own.

Will get in contact (if that's ok) when I get back to see about additional fogs / spots............no doubt dragging a couple of HIDless tossers behind me who want illuminating also!

Great bits of kit - without a doubt, the best single purchase for any motorcycle for a number of reasons:thumb2

Cheers mate :beerjug:

I rode home from work in the dark a couple of nights ago for the first time since fitting the HID's. It was very stormy and lots of debris on the road. Lights have paid for themselves already IMHO. All I need now is to get past the MOT next week and get a pair of sunglasses for night time riding to cope with the glare off the road signs. (We get plenty rain up here to keep our signs very reflective)

Les I am sure Keith Bouncer would agree we were very glad to have your HIDs on our recent Iron Butt excursion through hell. Keith and I managed to position bikes is a slight offset formation to mimic a silhouette of an aircraft carrier coming down the road in the pissing rain with seven of your ballasts blazing. The product worked flawlessly.

I agree....Les's products were/are superb.....:clap

Cheers guys, and well done on your Iron Butt, do I have to find a soothing cream product now :D

After a night time ride on my non HID'd ZZR600 while wearing a black visor :blast (yes, I know, I know :blagblah ) I remembered how great the HIDs on my GS actually are.

HID 50 lighting

I am very impressed with Les's HID 50 Lighting. i had them fitted prior to a GlobeBusters Trans-Canada (Vancouver to Halifax) tour last year which included 900 miles of gravel (with wife on back ) on the Trans Labrador Highway; we frequently encountered very large lorries towing 2 or 3 trailers which appeared coming towards us totally surrounded by huge dust clouds . I am convinced the HID lights, also fitted to several other bikes on the tour., prevented several serious accidents by making the bikes more visible to the truck drivers whose intention seemed to be to force us off the side of the gravel. Unfortunately, I wasn't the only one who was impressed by the lighting, as this year I did the High Andes tour and eventually delivered the bike to the customs warehouse in Buenos Aires where an attempt was made to steal the whole lighting kit. I had to buy a new kit from Les , as my wiring was badly damaged by the thief . I was impressed by the original kit, but am even more impressed with the new one. As before, everything is beautifully made, with very clear instructions and very well packed contents. I also chose the upgraded 'bulbs' which Les now offers and I am now looking forward to fitting the kit and comparing the brightness.

Had a 50w kit from Les for the dip beam with the anti glare burner on my GSA , simple to fit ( and I didnt take the headlamp unit off either :augie) what a difference !!! Now seriously thinking about a main beam conversion too as they seem get to full brightness faster than I thought they would . took 4 days from ordering to being fitted here in France , superb service :beerjug:

My 1200GS had the HID50 Treatment yesterday....

And a very happy man I am with it all to.

As we all know the 1200GS Headlight is a bit pants really, so I contacted Les late last week while I was in Munich, he got a kit together for me and fitted it at 8.15AM on Saturday morning.

It was well within my capabilities to fit, but I was on a clock and to be fair, Les had it done in around 30 minutes, and I was back on my way up to Warrington, fantastic service :thumb2

It may be marginally more expensive than other kits, but the way it's all put together, on the custom stainless bracket makes all the difference IMHO.

I went for a 5k kit with ceramic core dip and regular main, along with the LED sidelight. A short trip out to pick my son up from his mates last night and the lighting is spot on,probably equal to my factory fit HIDS on the car (I
I went for 5K as it's a bit closer to OEM "Whiteness").

I could not be happier, Les got up early so I could get back to a family "thing" at 9.30AM, fitted, aligned everything and got me on my way with a decent bit of banter along the way.

Top service and a great product at a more than reasonable price. :thumb2:thumb2

(PS Big Derek ...... no Tea or Coffee :D:D)

Top Service

Just had the same set up fitted as Fluffmeister. I found Leas very flexible with the date and time to fit and very socialable whilst I was there. The job took about 45 minutes start to finish and to be honest it looks a pukker job too. No wires dangling and to look down at the dash you really wouldnt know these had been fitted.

Yes I paid a little more from Les, but after doing my research I am happy that the products used a good and after meeting Les feel sure that if in the unlikely event there is a problem he would be more than willing to resolve it.

If your thinking of putting HIDs on your bike have a chat with Les first.

Cheers

Hid kit for GS1200 by Les.

Had a kit fitted to my GS a couple of weeks ago, had a blown bulb so it was a " shall I do it now situation". Phoned les for advice as I am a bit of a GS Novice, ended up at his place a couple of hours later having them fitted. I could not believe the difference, even the Mrs was impressed with my new bulb!! After riding with them for two weeks still impressed, I'm feeling more confident that the poor old car driver will be able to see me at quite a distance, if only thinking wtf is that coming.
Brilliant lights and great advice.
Thanks Les

Got a box of shiny goodies today.:bounce1

including a very nice stainless bracket for all the ballasts. Just got to find a quiet couple of hours to fit it all. Had email with clear instructions.

Many thanks to Les for his excellent service.:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap
