Can you fit the above to the main beam of an 1150 RT? If so can anyone advise me on what bulb etc I need to complete the job. The reason for asking I have just travelled 180 mile to an installer who then told me he could only fit a HID to the low beam:nenau

Is there an alternative - spot lights and brackets that will fit my bike :beerjug:

Is it an H4 (twin filament for dip AND main beam in one bulb) or a pair of H7's (same shape bulb, slightly fifferent base but you can bodge it to make it fit but only one filament- two bulbs used, one for main one for dip beam) ?

If it's an H4 TWIN filament, you might want to read THIS , where we concluded that going to H4 HID for both filaments is NOT a good solution, as it results in poor beam spread.

You Can get an H4 HID where only ONE of the two filaments is HID and the other is a normal Zenon filament.

You can also get H7 HIDs so you could have both as HID.

IF it's an H4 bulb, you'd be better going down the auxilliary light route IMO.
Lots of types available, but there are some VERY nice ones HERE which you could mount in all sorts of different combinations and ways :)

I suspect it has more to do with the fact that most (if not all) vehicles that have HID's as standard in the dip have halogen's in the mains because of the delay in the lamp reaching full brightness - possibly causing issues when flashing other road users

In my mind they're still brighter from the off than halogen's are at full brightness
