Zerocool thanks very much they arrived today and are already fitted. It took my better half about an hour to fit them - from wheeling the bike into the kitchen to wheeling it back out again:augie

I'd take pictures but they are far too bright :clap:clap

I can now ride safely in the dark:D

HID's

That will be the best thing you've ever done to your bike!

Love my HID's to. New to the HID setup and it makes such a hugh difference to night riding.

I'd love to see some pics and how you mounted them as I dream of night riding with HIDs

I got same kit from http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260346851912

Offered him £100 and got the kit, mounted ballasts behind speedo clock and rev counter.

But I had the prob of the RID freezing when the low beam ballast was fitted behind the speedo clock. I have cured the problem by wrapping the ballast and black box with this stuff. http://shop.romneymin.com/58mm-self-adhesive-lead-sheet-197-p.asp
Just fitted it today and no further probs so far.

See other thread about HID prob on 1150gs Adv http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173908

Seems to have stopped the magnetic field disturbing the LCD screen.

HID 50W the best upgrade, turns night into day

Add a lump of lead flashing to your headstock?! - like these bikes aren't top heavy enough

I can't help but think that there's an awful lot of feckin' around needed to stop these HID's from breaking your bike :nenau

Matt

I know what you mean but the flashing is off a "model makers" roof not the local church!!

Weight is minimal, the strip supplied fits in the palm of you hand:thumb

No problem at all on an 1150, put them here:-

One each side of the headstock for dip and head beams. You are looking between the left lobe of the tank and the headstock, you can see the light grey spring of the original suspension unit at the bottom left of the image.

Over 2 years down the road and no problems whatsoever.:thumb2

These units are 35watt from HIDs4U bought prior to the 50watt units being available in this parish.
