High beam not working

After riding my bike home to Norway from Germany I discover the light switch is not working as it should. When switching to high beam, the lense is only flashing on as the switch is operated. Probably a bad connection in the switch.

How do I fix it and how costly will it be? I have asked the dealer to send me a replacement part, but no answer yet.

And yes, I deserve a kicking for not checking the bike properly before taking it home :mcgun

Try spraying a load of WD-40 into the switch and turn it off and on a few times. If the light only flashes when you hit the switch, it's probably a problem with the switch contacts. If there was a wiring issue, the light would probably flash on and off intermittantly as you ride (as long as the switch is in the "On" position).

Its a known problem. I had the left switch cluster replaced as a fix.

I met a guy on a 1200 at this years TT with exactly the same problem.

I disconnected his battery, touched the pos and neg together which discharges the capacitors, do a throttle re set by opening and closing the throttle a couple of times, reconnect the battery.
Started the bike and about 20 seconds later the main beam was working again:clap

Sounds like voodoo :) I'll give it a try unless wd40 does the trick.
