I was reading a post on high mileage 1100s who has done high mileage on an 1150.I have only done 34000 on mine.

Some have been to 120,000- they'll be along soon, those who know. Mine is racking it up quickly though, to the point that I am going to build a special to sharethe load.

I don't think they should be any less high mileagable than the 1100 - proven internals and a few tweaks that made the 1150 stronger from what everyone says. Still an understressed motor - over 1 litre that is only producing 80hp. Will go for years.

Blowzorns 1150 ADV has over 125K - i think it took him 3 years to cover that mileage
My old 1150 loan bike had 99600 miles when i sold it in 2005.

My mate the despatch rider had 300k on his 1150. Still the original engine but had a few gearboxes in it's life.

Mike O's 1150GSA must be well over the 120k mark by now.

'00 1150, 224,000 kms up, running like a charm ! :)

...although the clutch splines haven't been sticky for a while ..... :augie

Stil running..the 1150 is the King

1150

Only 85000 so far but am working towards the 100 mark.

2003 R1150GS 107,000 miles commuting into central London daily. Sunny yellow with Adventure tank. Only major failure has been a fuel pump dying on the Holloway Road

My 1150GS has 96270 km. Problems:
- With 65.000 had a cardan (UJ) clip gone missing and it started to erode the inner of the arm. New cardan fitted under warranty (I bought the bike used)
- Front brake hose split - drove from Dover to Leatherhead with rear brakes only.
- Replaced the clutch with around 80.000 (don't remember the exact figure). It was an unnecessary operation, I found it later. The friction disk was 5.9-6.0mm thick. However could see the splines in perfect condition.
- Paralever Bearings replaced. No major need as a simple lubrification would have sufficed. But I felt more comfortable replacing them.
- Starter motor cleaned a few times
- A few tires in :)

Other than, great little bike!

2001 1150, owned since new - currently on 125,000 miles and still used daily - 150 miles per day.

parts so far:

lots of service parts - every 6k
clutch at 80,000 - had been slipping a bit since 65,000 miles but finally got round to it at 80k
brake discs all round at 85,000
changed final drive at 100,000 - old one a bit worn but working fine but had been given a new one so seemed daft not to fit it.
ignition wiring at 105,000
fuel pump at 125,000 - old one failed and then worked intermittanly - took out the relay at the same time.

only broken down once, and that is when the fuel pump failed last week.

oh yes and lots of fuel and oil and some tyres and 2 batteries.

still runs brilliantly and still leaves my mates 14k 1150R in the dust :D

Ok, I'll post the evil question, what oil did you use?
Synthetic or mineral?:hide

oil

i used a mineral oil until the 12,000 mile service and then used Rock Oil Guardian semi synthetic 10/40 until the last service when i used silkolene 10/40 semi synthetic. For the gearbox and final drive i have used Rock oil FD7 fully synthetic, changed every 12,000 miles.
