Having spent quite a few hours on motorways recently (more to come) I got to thinking how nice it would be to stretch my legs forward now and again, air blowing up the trouser leg would have been welcome as well!

A quick google showed a few that mount onto the engine crash bars.

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for/against highway foot pegs or should I just get a Harley?

If you have cylinder head protectors (I have “XHeads”) they may not fit. The ones I bought didn’t.
There’s not a lot of space between the cylinder head and the bar, add a head protector and you’re stuffed.
Not only that, but the ones I bought on eBay - though not real cheapies had an inherent fault in that the weld holding on a nut that secured the peg pinch-bolt. They welded it with cheese. The nut came away at any more than finger tight.
Having recently ridden my GSA up to Ullapool, I found that when I did want to stretch out a leg, I was able to rest it on the engine bar/head... or I just stood up (as I did for a 12mile section of single lane 50MPH motorway)
