Hilltop Group Buy

Internet forums are entertaining but rubbish for getting intelligent answers to even the simplest questions at times.

DOH - Of course I know how to close a thread, The question was, can I tell after the event who closed the thread, FFS it's like trying to educate pork on this forum at times!!!!!!! Just remember there is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid answers!

Ah, but you need to direct the question to the most appropriate person and you're not much good at that are you :blast

That'd be very similar to contacting Geoff at Hilltop in order to have ones questions answered.

Pigs might fly...............

Was over at Hiiltop this morning getting the car MOT'd, while I was at it booked the S10 in with Geoff....and the offer to explain stuff to Engineer is still open...but I think you're right

I have my '13 plate S10 booked in for the 4th September at 09:00hrs. Any one recommend a decent hotel or B&B locally to Hilltop, I don't fancy getting up at 03:00 for a five hour plus stops trip.:D

Tell him to put the answers on here.

I am bored with arguing CSE Physics, go ride an LC then perhaps you will see what I mean :)
I have
Thats why I had it re mapped !

So are you going to Hilltop on the 5th September where all your questions may be answered ? A simple yes or no will suffice

If they answer the following questions then depending upon the answers it might be worth a visit:

When a 1200GS is 're-mapped' is it just look-up table contents that are changed? Are additional look-up tables added? how is the program directed to use the new look up tables? Is the program code changed or replaced? Is additional program code stored in other areas of memory and the start up vectors altered to run the new code? Are all the original sensors on the bike still used or disconnected or ignored?

P.S. what processor is used in the 1200GS LC?

I will take that as a no then

No fucking bottle IMO

What is the matter with you, why don't you just ask him?

You are making yourself look like a complete and utter imbecile now.:rob

I could easily phone and ask those questions, make notes then post the notes on here, but much better for the man himself to do it here on this forum, there can then be no problems with interpretation, misunderstanding or errors. Anyone who knows a bit about microprocessor systems would then be greatly enlightened.

The answer to those questions does not mean that any trade secrets are revealed, they are the sort of questions that our customers ask all the time. I am not asking for algorithms or data just a very general overview of what is done during a re-map. Is that unreasonable?

The answer to each of those questions would be no more than a paragraph.

To some maybe, I don't care but if I get the answers to my questions we will all have a better understanding as to what a re-map really involves.

Most uf us that have had the re map don't fucking care as the bike is better and that in itself is good enough. The only people that do seem to care are the ones that have not or in your case will not have it done and are just looking for excuses as to why they won't IMO

Now, turn up at hill top and show the world that you know better than Geoff or shut the fuck up

All the more reason to go to the open day. Then you can post all your findings on here. I'm assuming that you've never met anyone on here before, so there's no need to be scared, their bark is worse than their bite.
