OK , there isn't a GS to be seen ... but bear with me.
I came across this link on another forum ( a pilot/aviation one) .

From the first page , don't give up , keep scrolling down.
The photography is superb and the description of the tour on 1950 british bikes is engaging.

Well worth a read and inspiring stuff, No GPS kit , no Rallye suits , just a paraffin burner for a "brew up" and tweed jackets!

i REALLY ENJOYED that
In its day that was PROPER adventure motorcycling
I ,ve ridden in a fair few of those places wi me big hardcore modern bikes:augie
n me gore tex n me carbon helmet n me gps
makes me feel like a right fraud that does nae e111 card, nae personal ins nae road recovery ins etc etc
proper bikers :bow:bow
