Anyone used one extensively? :nenau

What are they like? They are a "cheap" brand.

Tempted by the FS10 Carbon fibre. £199 at Hein Gericke. :drool

Has the sun visor system. Seem to fit my head shape quite well.
Definitely not sure about the anti mist visor as pinlock stuff seem to be the only real answer.

Given my shopping habits .. will probably use it for 2.5 years and get bored with it or it gets too stinky to tolerate. :D

used one for years before I bought the Arai Tour X and to be honest I think the HJC is just as good for half the price.

If memory serve correctly it was the FS-10 was about 120 quid around 5 years ago, very comfy, plush lining, reasonable quiet, good ventillation, nothing broke.
The Arai has had two visor mechanisms in about 2years could just be bad luck since removing the visor is a bit more involved than on the HJC.

Will probably go back to HJC once the TourX has had it's day as long as they do a peak type helmet I've kind of got used to the peak :)

Cheers! :thumb2

Very reassuring although my wallet is not going to like it :D

I wore a HJC for about 5 years and had no problems with it no matter how hard it rained. No fancy pinlock or anything just shampoo and a cloth to stop it misting up. I'd buy one again as they are so cheap.. I paid about £80.

i have somewhere a hc12 i think it is, superb quality for the price, and the breath guard is excellent

I'm using a carbon FS10 at the moment. Had it around a year and its been great. Fogging doesn't seem to be a problem with the breath guard fitted and the sun visor is a nice and very handy touch.

The only thing thats happened to mine quality wise is that on the D ring the little red tab you pull to loosen it has come off, but it hasn't caused any problems.

You get a good quality bag with it as well as standard.

Cheers! Is £199 a good price for it?

Looking around on ebay some are going for upto £300 but one place for £199 plus postage of around £9

Advantage of using someone like Hein Gericke is that they're handy for any warranty issues if they're ever needed.

Seems a very good price.

Had a HQ-1 Carbon for 3 years. Top lid, very comfy, nice bag with it, spare visors were cheap enough. Only problem I had was where stones had hit the shell, it seemed to bubble between the carbon & laquer, but not a big deal really.
Obviously it doesn't matter so much in the UK, but in warmer climates, it didn't seem to let in enough ventilation like my new Shoei does.

All in all, I really liked it, and according to my local Hein Gerkin, HJC produces more helmets annually than any other manufacturer. But I've never confirmed this! :thumb2

Only reason I've changed brands for now, is the XR-1100 has more ear lug room when fitting a speaker kit (The HJC didn't have as big recesses).

I used a HJC for 3 years and it was brilliant - I think it was an AC11 and I bought it on a RiDE Best Buy recommendation - it wasn't wrong ! I subsequently changed to a System 5 and the build quality or, more accurately, the material in the 5 was noticeable a bit better, but that said the HJC wasn't falling apart, by any means.

The AC11 is a regular full face (I had VFR at the time) with no fancy sun visor thingy, but the anti-fog element of the visor (really just a well applied inner layer) was excellent in not misting up (unlike the Sys5). Another good thing about the visor was the hingeing mechanism is recessed into the side of the lid, meaning that the visor is flush with the skin of the helmet, and this positively contributes to noise reduction (unlike the protruding pods on Arai's etc), so it was a good, high quality, quite helmet. From what I can see the FS10 is constructed the same way. I've a Multitec now, but I'd certainly buy another HJC.

Was wearing a HJC carbon when I faceplanted at 80, saved my stunning good looks :D only had it a few months but loved it. Still got it but cant use it now but a great lid anyways. :thumb

i picked up a HJC carbon mx lid from george whites at swindon for less than £100, about £130 less than i saw the same lid in another shop that afternoon.

It's a nice comfy lid :thumb2

I used an FG14 for 4 years, no problems with it. Only issue was that I couldn't fit it in the TTpanniers (41l version), went in the topbox OK though.
