Hi.

I have purchased a faulty HJC RPHA90 carbon helmet. It is a flip up and the fault is that cold air rushes through the gap next to my cheeks, no doubt water too when the rain is very heavy.

I bought it at the Bike Show and it’s been in a box since. Receipt is missing unfortunately.

Given I don’t know the vendor, I’ve contacted the HJC distributor for the UK and their initial response was favourable but they’ve subsequently been next to useless and said tough shit basically.

A shame as I’ve had 4 HJC lids and they’ve been excellent, not least because they’re a good fit for my particular shape of noggin! I won’t be buying any more after this though.

The one thing they’ve suggested that may or may not help is sending the helmet back to them so that they can “tighten the gear plates”.

I can’t be bothered to package it up for something that may or may not work so was just asking here if anyone has any idea what the gear plates are and how they can be adjusted?

If you paid by credit card you can track down the seller. You have 5 years warranty on the helmet.

It might just need a simple adjustment......

Gear plates are what the visor attaches to.........there is adjustment on them.
