Fanny may be a lot of things (some of them decidedly unpleasant) but I and others would resent him being labelled as one who 'takes without giving', small world or not; if it were not for his considerable personal sacrifice in time, effort and money (not to mention the loss of permanent employment), then the single most significant fund raising event by members of this board (IMO) would simply not have taken place

My view on this is that the hog raost is that it's supposed to be a neutral event where anyone can turn up from any of the forums.

As such i don't think there should be any promotions for any of the forums at it... no T-shirt sales etc. no stalls, no posters, banners, flyers.. nothing.

It's bakemans event... if you want to help him out that's great i'm sure any who helps will get thanked and mentioned in any report on it after.

I don't want the bad feelings that seem to arise from the segregation that seems to happen over Club and UKGS'er events to be felt at the Hog and i feel any blatant promotion for any of our sites would and does do this.

LES TRAVEL DRI, MULE, and EARHOLE MAN only there really for intrest of visiters, air beds etc.

SPC giving us a merchanic SATURDAY, to advise, and do the odd job.

Dennis JUST PRINT TOP BLOKE has given us near cost price on a TOP JOB, on tea shirts.

My RENTMAN will be visiting there stalls !!!

Just ordered a LARGER TENT by 60ft extra £120 so yes costs do mount but I will not loss out, trick is to make enoght so you don`t pay for stuff yourself.

Like last year £500 ON TEA SHIRTS forgot to take the cash out

BAKERMAN and BECKY (DON'T forget) have made this a fantastic event for all
he makes sure we have hot and cold running tea, coffee, breakfast baps and cakes thoguhout the whole event
They are great hosts and fly the flag for equality over all forums, and, even though Mr Matron has now decided to fly over to Germany to watch some poofs kicking a pigs bladder about that weekend, i will bring the kids and the dog with me if i have to ...in order to support his efforts...and have a great time too..

i have advertised this event on My site, but have no intentions of advertising or promoting it at all at the Hog...
so... looking forward to a hot sunny, rant free, unprejudiced weekend
so lets kick out the politics and get on our bikes......

It's exactly because of the aggro between events/sides that a lot of people are thoroughly pissed off.....Too many events clashing and all the lies and bullshit means that those of us who just want to get out and meet our mates at various do's can't, plus the various charities that the different events are supporting are going to suffer, with numbers divided between events.

That's why I'm looking forwards to a totally non-partisan Hog raost......for a start it's the only time I'm likely to meet up with friends like McFlurry, Dave and Val and 'The Stud' Pramatix

Hopefully, next year people will use a bit more common sense and we can have even bigger, better events that don't clash, cover the country nicely and that everyone can go to....I really don't give a flying toss if it's a 'Club' do or a UKGSer do......all I want to do (and I suspect most other people both here and on the club site) is get out and have a good time with other GSers.

I would have thought the best advice for anyone who's got a problem with fellow GS rider just cos he looks at a different website or is a member of another club is, save your money and stay at home.
As long as they make a contribution to the fund raising whats so wrong with either the club or site selling stuff there and trying to get new members?

OMG me to Fanum I got it last year and the year before
as you say its always a great time as is every event to get together a meet mates past and present and having a few Beers and its a great cause and it dont matter what charity the money is donated to
