Make no apologies for posting this- I have spent the last 2 months organising it.
Hoghton Tower is on the A675 between Preston and Blackburn- it is now in its 28th year and will have 140+ bikes sprinting up the 1/8th of a mile course. Most of the machines are old brit classics and more modern stuff, but there are a couple of BMW's entered- one of them a very nice BMW Rennsport replica.
Practice starts at 10am, and competitive sprinting starts later on. The tower do charge to get in- dont have any control over that, only the running of the sprinting side of it.
Its well worth a look at for a different sunday afternoon. I would say that wouldnt I having spending so much time organising it.....

Great Venue....

Used to go years ago, even got shown round the 'Big Hoos' by Major Adams once, he was really into his bikes.

He agreed in principal years ago, to allow some of his land to be set up as an off-road course down near Hoghton Bottoms....did that ever come off?

Any chance of a "practice" run...? Just for fun, of course.

The GS is booked into RGM's tomorrow for a bit of a tune-up & fork seals. Got some nice fresh BT014's fitted & raring to go...

Sorry.....

Entries have closed I'm afraid Paul.

Unfortunately there is also a 1000cc limit on modern bikes (unless yours is an 850?)- we had a modded ZX12R fall off last year and the only way of being fair to slow the speed down was to cut the engine size. Machine specific would be far too complicated.

Your brand new BT014's wouldnt last long either!!

See link for an idea of what to expect...

Wasn't there a zzr 1100 racing in it a year or 2 ago ??

Very well- had a few too many entries and it dragged on a little, plus we had a new timekeeping system which caused a couple of headaches. The two weeks leading up to it organisation wise was a nightmare.

Glad it is all over- would have been at the Windmill the night after but I was too knackered, plus the weather was rubbish. Going to miss next month as am at the TT, thats unless there will be a special foreigners meeting over there....

There are loads of photos available at www.fastrackimages.com Nowhere is there so much variety of bikes.

There are also a couple of others of us marshals in action- have a look round and see what we have to deal with of a weekend.

Weather was awful....

There seem to be a few Tossers going over to the Island this year. I think we'll have to do something about organising a meet. Anyone local fancy arranging something?
