with all the battering she's been getting the aim is to strip expensive glass and plastic off and replace with lighter and less costly aftermarket gear and save the stock stuff.

When it arrives will do a picture write up:D

Getting ready for next season.

So handle Bar cylinders for brake and clutch short levers folding on impact any ideas :nenau
And if things go well Max BMW R1200 3.0 Final Drive Upgrade to complement the 18" woodies rear end,

I saw it's on bike, Tomek (Holan) have its on his bike, it look very slim and small

must see this maybee at radnor if your there????????????

If you want short folding brake and clutch levers - try ASV Levers. http://asvinventions.com/index.php
I put a set on my XR400 and they're brilliant

I usually position my levers for standing, so they generally don't intrude.
Saying that I haven't fitted a set of these to the HP2, but I'm thinking about it as I'm not too impressed with the Vario levers, as the adjustment knob seems to keep turning and I cannot seem to get it to stop - yes I tried to put a bit of loctite in there but no luck

any news?

Hi Bambam
any news on the rear fender set up? I'm interested to see some more pics of it. I wouldn't mind this for my MM

,

Is this actually cheaper? Carbon would look nice. Looking forward to pics.

BamBam, Any update? I was told by Holan the install is not reversible? Maybe you have to cut up the stock fender? Thanks for any info. Very expensive also over here. $540.00. Ouch.

Hi Maineroads,
you are correct in thinking that you have to cut the rear mudgaurd.
I bought a spare from BMW UK as BMW USA will not ship outside USA, Cost me £69 or in bucks $113.

fitting not for the faint hearted

It was a long journey :comfort so here's a simplistic pictorial

DSCF5583small.JPG
Strip out the OME rear end

DSCF5596small.JPG
Attach the new alli frame :thumb this was a breezy

DSCF5597Small.JPG
Scribe a line to cut too, and remove the mudguard for cutting

DSC_0158small.jpg
A micro blade in my grinder and cut :blagblah

DSC_0161small.jpg
Re fit the mudguard, and it's advise I also need to shape it to get a good look ;)

DSC_0159small.jpg
Trimmed and ready to fit (my mudguard had split and now its trimmed out):D

DSC_0166small.jpg
This is a idea of how much trimming, shaping was needed. Not difficult if you are happy wielding a grinder I stick to a blade for shaping and then a small sander in the drill

DSC_0140small.jpg
Well it really gets tricky now, A piece of string to line things up, with the seat acting a pinch to keep things in place :augie

DSC_0145small.jpg
Mark, but to be honest I did not want to get it wrong so drilled institute with a perfect size drill bit for the holes already in the mount

DSC_0152small.jpg
Drilled and what a pain it was to align it all up nerve racking just to fit a peace of carbon:(

I will say at this point a pr-drilled unit could end in tears as a lot HP2’s have had a hard life, and could possibly not be quite the same shape a Mr BMW sold it to you in So perceiver :rob

DSC_0027small.jpg
Licence plate holder indicator hole pre-drilled, with the KTM light fitted

DSC_0030small.jpg
I used double side sticky foam tape for fitting/aligning, and when you have that done drill just like the fixing to the frame;)

Now I decided cut down the licence plate holder (see earlier pic) as I have a flexible plate and feel if your hit the plate the plate should flex, not the carbon mudgaurd:rolleyes:
X Challenge flexible indicators for the same reason, they fit with some grease a push a twist through Holan's pre-drilled hole, but you need to drill the 'hold them in place BMW hole'.
No trip to BMW as they work as a direct replacement.

I went for the KTM LED rear lamp as I like the shape.:drool
This has been hard work and is not yet finished AS THIS IS NOT COMPATABLE WITH THE CANBUS. Went to BMW to get it switched on and they couldn't but not thier fault.
I have had to fit a adjustable resistor and a relay to fool the BMW electrics, I now have a rear light and brake light:beerjug:. but need to get the correct resistor and tidy that wiring mess up.:thumb

I like the look, but it’s a fiddly installation, if you like the look it's worth the trouble.
Now I have it all in place its off to the Acerbis dealer for a blue plastic one for racing:roll carbon for the pose :cool

Nicely done. Thanks for the info. Steve

Thank you, you have the advantage with OME prices, It was fun to fit:comfort
even with a life long addiction to Cutting things up and custom work you need to be prepared to get your hands dirty;) but over all I love it.
As with every thing it realy pisses me off that I have to get my own tarx bolts to keep the stock tools... but hay Touratech are the same:mad: Just not cricket old chap:rob
