No.

No.

No.

Don't worry about the Haggi, Midges are the method used to control invaders from below Hadrians Wall.

Hadrian knew what he was doing!! keep 'em out of england! (the midges I mean!).

In the 1200 technical section? Why not post this in Touring or Beakchat?
Or did you think that only 1200 riders go to Scotchland?

Oban isn't the best place to base yourself - I'd suggest somewhere around Fort Wiliam or preferably further north e.g. Kyle of Lochalsh area (Dornie, Ardelve, Plockton, Locharron), Gairloch or Ullapool :thumb2

I did a week solo blast around the scottish coast in March this year. A little chilly but lovely empty roads and no midges.

I can recommend a lovely B&B in Fort William who were really friendly (and from Southampton!) and another in Durness if you go up that far (who were from Warrington!).

west coast worst for midges, april and may for best weather and minimum midge population. The gas has been piped to England and last haggis was shot by General Wade:flag

... only the Lowland Haggis! The Highland Haggis (2 long legs 2 short legs) are still roaming strong

if you pm me i have a haggis whistle ,you can borrow, saves paying a butcher for them .

Didn't know butchers sold whistles....:)

Kyle of Lochalsh as a base might be quite good - gives you options for Skye, as well as allowing you to go north and or south to explore, if and when you want to. Don't know anyone in Kyle of Lochalsh.
Checked the yearbook, don't even know my colleagues in that part of the world either... Sorry
