Looking for a Windows application that is very simple to understand and use. A freeware or shareware UK orientated program would be preferred. Anyone have experience?

I don't kow if this will help but if you have excel I dud a worksheet many years ago when I changed jobs since it was s tep down in wages I needed to know what my outgoing was and what I could spend, it's basic but I have used it for 10 yrs now and it's done me good.
obviously you need to change the various entrys but you'll get the jist of it, the wallet sheet was for a print out (just highlight the month you want to copy then go to the wallet sheet and pate it in) I did each month and keep in my wallet and when I spend money or take it out I marked it down, that way you had a visual recod of what you spent, it took a couple of months to get into the swing of it, but if your diligent it pays.
