Spare Boots??

Hiya, I might be fresh from the HUMM........but unfortunately I made the mistake of trusting a Spanish dealer as to when the GS would no longer have a hole in the engine! I was meant to have picked it up last week but it still ain't ready.....:-(

So, my boots / armour / helmet etc are all still near Barcelona!!

I've hucked out the garage for old gear etc but I'm stuck for boots and don't really want to wear road boots...

So, anyone got a pair of size 45 offroad boots I can scrounge for the day please - payment in :beer:saturday evening??

Yep, got a pair..... will bring them on the day unless you want to pick them up during the week?

for all those coming along on the 15th here's the latest.

Meeting place - I had intended to met in a free carpark that has plenty of space for cars & trailes and several bikes thinking that as it was August we'd have good weather - doh!!! :blast I'm now looking for a venue that will offer shelter if the weather turns bad - stay tuned for an update shortly. The general location will be close to Aldershot in Hants.

Event timing- As we have 56 waypoints for you to visit, with some cracking lanes amongst them, and because we've reduced the event from two to one day I wanted to get an early start so you have time to cover the ground. To give you an idea, with full knowledge of all the lanes at a fast pace without stopping (except for fuel) there's about 4.5 hours of riding!!!! So considering navigation, search and stop time at/for each waypoint, lunch and fuel stops I doubt it if anyone will complete all 56 in the 10 hours of riding time available - now there's a challenge for you:D

The intention is to meet at 8:00am prompt for a quick briefing then give you 45mins to mark up the maps hitting the road at 9:00am. Then have people return at or before 7:00pm (there will be penalties for being late :()for beers :beerjug::beer:and toting up the scores.

Any questions let me know.

Jarv

better get my lights working this week otherwise will be an interesting ride home after the event!

Is there room for one more on this event on 1200GSA? Could possibly pursuade a mate to join in too if need be to make up numbers.

Team 2:
Tim Cullis, Nick Smith, Steve Brazier
Not sure on the bikes but think big ones....

It looks like 'Team Mish-Mash' will be four members.
- Steve Brazier and Big Rob on horrendously lardy 1150GS Adventures,
- Nick Smith on a light-and nimble Kwacker 250, and
- Tim Cullis on a Tenere that has yet to see a puddle. :eek

See you all Saturday.
Tim

I've got a partner now thanks, Mike on a GS Adventure and I'm on a GS1150.

Look forward to Saturday.

Cheers, Andy

Brill, I guess on the day should be fine unless you happen to be near Farnham beforehand & we could meet?

Cheers :-)

Don't think so but PM me your mobile and I'll call you if I am.... Otherwise I'll see you bright and early Saturday morning.

Hi Jarv

I was hoping to make this last minute and be tagged onto a team but life will be getting in the way!!

Anyway I hope you and the like minded riders have a great day out.

As you have gone to all this hard work finding these waypoints and the tracks to get to them I wondered if you would pass them on after your are finished as they would be good targets to ride to for a day out. I would be happy to donate to you chosen charity to cover the time you put in. If any thing it will give me some practice for when you organize the next one!:thumb

Let me know and I will hopefully see you at the next Thames Valley meet.

Cheers

Titch
