Have netgear n300 extender
Set them up they are named with my home network name but then have. .ext after the name

The issue is I have to go to settings on the iPad select the particular extender and connect each time whent out of range of the modem router

My question is is there a way of just seamlessly getting my devices to pick up each extender to do this without going through the process? Could it be as simple as removing the .ext from the name of the extender?

I've used Solwise extenders for several years now, in a long thin house; just plug and play and no problems so far.

TP-Link N300 is less than £20 from Amazon and doesn't have the -ext or .ext on the network. You need use the WPS buttons to set it up and it has different colour lights to tell you if it's too far from your router. You won't see more than 20Mb per second from it but that's down to design. Set one up for father in law at Christmas and it's been used for streaming etc without any dropouts unlike the previous .ext one. Neighbour is using the same unit and teenager has stopped complaining :)

Hope that helps.

Garan.
