Home page keeps resetting

My home page keeps resetting itself despite me changing it back to google. It works OK after i reset it once only, after which it goes back to this wretched makemesearch homepage. How do I stop it doing this ?

Sounds like you have a homepage hijacker spybot thingy lurking in your computer. Try running SpyBot S&D and AdAware V6 - do a search for the titles on this site if you've not got them installed already. They are both free downloads.

Seconded. I had the same thing and Spybot and AdAware got rid of it eventually.

Hi mine did the same tried Spybot and ad-aware still had a problem I run Win XP Pro. Try restoring to a date in the past,,anyway that worked for me.

I've used both but found that they detected one piece of Spyware but failed to remove it. Unbelievably, Microsoft came to the rescue by buying Giant Software. Their excellent product can be downloaded from here
They guarantee that it will work until July 2005 when I suspect they will want some money to convert the Beta version into a full product.

I've found it's more a case of run multiple Spyware programs, as MS's Beta doesn't find all of them, although it may get better.

Just gotta keep up to date, running spyware and anti-virus scans as a regular task on your system.

i've used this before with some success.

best option is not to use internet explorer in the first place.
