I had the CD175. Bought new for £475, sold 2 years later for £425. I had my first "adventures" on it. When you're 17 and clueless about touring, I thought that a tent and a sleeping bag was all I needed. I survived.

Easy tappet adjustment too! Those were the days. I had the gold coloured version back in 1972. Glorious memories of that little beauty: took me from my home in Portsmouth to college in Sheffield and back several times. A couple of times I took my girlfriend to her home in Crewe at the end of term and then rode to Portsmouth. The CB175 coped perfectly. Makes you wonder why we now feel we need the behemoths we have

Same, blue CD175, an indestructible bike if ever there was one. My first bike trip was myself and a mate on my CD going round the Borders, staying in youth hostels. I didn’t realise I needed a 1200

Great bikes. I had one or two. Also it’s smaller cousin the ss125 twin. How did those little twins last so long. I revved the tits off them and they wouldn’t die. Much better chrome too. JJH

My best mate at the time was killed on a CD in 1975; a Hillman hunter head one night; a fall out with girlfriend and beer was involved;; yes quite a few of us young us had luck on or side;; stay lucky guys.I think there are a load of us on here who are lucky to have gotten old!!
Had a Cd175 and a CB175 even remember the reg began with DLG ###N . Always thought it stood for Does Look Good. Bump

When I was a youf in 1971 I had a CD175 cost new £215 from Hallens in Cambridge. The CB175 was a bit like hens teeth I only ever knew 1 person that had one at the time it was the dream bike 2 twin carbs, 5 speed, more power than the CD and megaphone shaped silencers. Things were simpler then. That one looks as new one of the few.
