For Sale Honda CB175

A Cracker! I had one exactly the same in red at 17. Coming off an FS1E it was a revelation - 55mph in 3rd at about 10,500rpm up a hill that I stuggled to do 25mph on the FS1E was mind blowing! GLWS.

I was coming up a hill in Glasgow well over the 30 and noticed an old police landrover wheezing along behind me, they got to me and pulled me in right by the cafe where the lads hung out. They then told me I was doing over 40 going up that hill, I was well chuffed.
And they didn’t give me a ticket.
Bit of street cred, my first and last I think.

I had a CD175.
Travelled all over the uk on it. Lots of trips with my flat mate on the back and a rucksack on his back. Always got us there, and never let us down.
The CD was the budget version with a single carb, and I believe only a single leading front brake unlike the CB which had a twin leading shoe front brake. I think the CD had an enclosed rear chain, but a lot of people removed the lower tin section.
Glws

That mod alone would be worth an extra 5mph as well as making you a sexual tyrannosaurus 👍😁

The daft stuff that we remember.......

I remember the front page of Bike magazine when they tested a CD175. There was a bloke riding along on it with a thinking bubble superimposed above his head. He was thinking 'Dum de dum....wonder what's for dinner?'........ :D

Probably 50 years ago.......I can't remember what I was doing last week - :blast

BUMP for the little Honda.

When I was a youf in 1971 I had a CD175 cost new £215 from Hallens in Cambridge. The CB175 was a bit like hens teeth I only ever knew 1 person that had one at the time it was the dream bike 2 twin carbs, 5 speed, more power than the CD and megaphone shaped silencers. Things were simpler then. That one looks as new one of the few.

A sexual dinosaur?
I did have my CD 175 ( in red) parked up outside Nuffield House at the QE hospital in Birmingham one night. Nuffield House was the student nurses home, and was guarded by a night porter. I took one of the nurses out, went back to her room for after, and barged my way past the night porter with my helmet on about 6 in the morning to get back to my flat.
I also shagged a young music teacher in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton, and one of her friends when I had that bike, so it did bring me some luck in the sexual department!
GLWS and a bump for some nostalgia.
