Honda WN7 just announced

Current day automotive designers are to automotive aesthetics what architects were to buildings in the 60's and 70's i.e. fucking useless
When you look at what Massimo Tamburni did with the Ducati 748/ 916 ( even better with their fairings off) and contrast that to the above, I couldnt agree more with you.

The latest Audi ( dont call it a TT) is about as stylish as a block of 1960’s high rise flats. But we are told “ we will get used to it”

I'm going to go against the flow and say that I rather like the look of it and rather like the concept.

What I don't like is the range which is quoted as being 80 miles.

Now, assuming you use the power of a 600 and the torque of a 1000, let's call that 60 miles.

And they seem to recommend recharging at 20% up to 80% which takes 30 minutes.

Which means 36 miles between stops, and a half hour wait each time.

That might be ok for a Sunday morning ride to a suitable coffee stop and back, as long as the coffee stop has an available fast charger. The only practical use case I can think of is for a 15-20 mile each way max daily commute, but that I suspect is a somewhat limited market.

I suspect if they do bring them in they might get discounted similarly to the hybrid Kawasaki

Oh, hang on, there's a free seat bag! I'm in!
The seat bag is to wear over your head so you can kip during the many charging stops on you ride.

There's only three important things in the electric bike world to make it work... Range, more range and even more range... While we're stuck at sub 200 never mind sub 100 range and charging issues it won't work..🙄

Perhaps Honda are having their C1 moment of looking like they're trying...

Depends .
I’d happily have a bike with 100 mile range if it wasn’t silly money .
For local riding I’d only charge it once a week.

But this Honda would need some storage and usability .

It it was £8k I might take a punt on one but not at £12999.
Bet it’s fun though with 100nm torque.

It'll be fun but as all the leccy bikes up to now as soon as you motor on they seem to be sub 100 miles... So then you need a 2nd petrol bike for decent trips...

I wouldn’t want one as an only bike but as a third or fourth….
If the forthcoming Stark Varg SM is road legal then that might be tempting . They go like stink with 80bhp and not silly money

Electric motorcycles work well in urban riding but suffer out on the highway because their range works backwards of ICE motorcycles. Electric cars still get good mileage at highway speeds because of their superior aerodynamics but motorcycles have much more drag which takes a lot to overcome. A battery motorcycle's range at highway speed is about 1/2 its range ridden in a city.

what a hideous thing.

I think the Sinclair C5 must be due a re-launch!
Personal taste and all that but I think it looks great .Bet it sells ok in France and Spain. It’ll flop here in Blinkered Britain .

Credit where it's due; the colours being a homage to Duracell 🤣 FWIW if you've a use for such a bike then doubtless the build quality will be excellent and it would make a good commuter 👍🏾

It’s not boxy from the front

I quite like it .
Similar power to a 600cc ICE so 80 bhp ish possibly. Should go well .
Perfect for over here but then I’ve got my X-ADV for that . I’ll try one though .

Black and gold looks good

I would get someone to paint an engine on the side and i was going to say stick a lolly pop stick in the spokes but you need wire spokes for that.
.

As long as you don't want to travel more than 40 miles away from home so you can get back without a recharge;; from the lights i bet it's impressive.

Yet it will charge from 20 to 80% in 30 minutes whilst you have a coffee at Starbucks

I could'nt even ge to Cadwell from my house nevermind get back; especially if your using it's plus point; instant overtake with gutso;; at least it's not as heavy as i thought it would be.
