Honda's new touring era (NT 1100)

Got on to M50 Honda today about the new bike. So conversation on phone goes like this. Hello how can I help? I’m enquiring about the new Honda bike. Which one? (That floored me) The new touring bike I’m quite sure there was only one launched today. I’d like prices and when I can get one please. They won’t be here till after January and I don’t know how much. Oh they’re £12000 in England. Yes but we don’t know yet. Thanks. JJH

Probably best to avoid them by all accounts and buy through one of the stockists..... Megabikes, Bikeworld, Overlanders.


I would be very interested in a test ride.

Might be the perfect replacement for my VFR (as long as there isn't too much of a performance deficit)

Yes but meggabikes Bikeworld ect get their stock from m50. I’d be more knowledgeable if I was in their position. 1982/83 I worked in Rathgar Motor Factors. I can still remember loads of part nos. New Honda bike. Importers don’t seem to have any passion. No interest even. JJH

It’s amazing how is as punters get more exited about latest plastic and metal horses, yet dealers aren’t all that bothered. They only get exited, when there is a sale to be had, as they get a reward for it. Other than that, no toss was given about what is coming, what is going, or indeed what was sold.

I sold many's the Draper Tool into Rathgar Motor Factors in the 90's

I was working in Murphy & Gunn 85 to 90 and 92 to 98. Gone now. That was a shock. JJH

Did you know Paul (Fields I think)........he was the service manager in the Tallaght Murphy & Gunn ??
 
Was down that way about a month ago.........should have found him earlier :)
 
When I saw the title of this thread I was hoping for a shaft driven replacement for the ST1300, but unfortunately not. Looks like a slightly more angular Triumph Tiger Sport.

The motor with DCT is very usable with plenty of torque .

I can see this as a great option for those not wanting a behemoth like an RT but want something well made and reliable and with a good degree of character .

Will It be shaft drive?
 
Reckon I’d be buying the Tracer9GT for the same price, more power and less weight and includes the panniers I believe. Better colour options too. Wouldn’t want to be a Honda dealer if this is the best they can do.

Bought the DCT comes with c stand h grips and panniers at the list price. I can choose whatever extra packs I want to add all free fitting and a big discount on retail. Plenty of time to decide what extras I want if any.

The middle pack with the comfort seat and spots would be the one that would interest me.

I wouldn't bother with the Honda top box....... I'd just transfer my Givi onto it.

What colour did you go for?

I don’t have to choose for a few weeks yet but it’s either black or grey. Looking in to possibly having it wrapped in a less bland scheme. We have an in-house vehicle graphics department at work.
