Honda's new touring era (NT 1100)

I think right now there are allot of more positive comments about the NT (despite its bland appearance) v the PP Multi and is generally attracting the interest of actual riders, rather than posing & vain beyond the limit drama queens.
Riders who won’t care about the depreciation of the NT, as much at those who spend £30k on a motorcycle :blast

Yes PP Multi looks good when parked up next to the NT, some might even go as far as calling it “sexy” (wouldn’t be surprised if some actually would sleep with it), but for me, that is where my interest in owning one does stop abruptly.

Agreed . You’d have to be nutty to spend £30k on such a vainglorious basterd bike !!! :-))

I had a couple of Varaderos, they made a little less power and torque than this NT, 95hp I think, they were brilliant 2 up tourers and I never needed more than they had

But my last two mile munchers have been a Crosstourer DCT and my current 1200 GS LC, you get used to having a certain amount on tap,

At the end of the day though I do think Arsey is right that seat of the pants sensation is far more important than top trumps figures

I also have a Z900rs which is “only” 110 hp but it’s light and torquey and actually goes like stink

I went from two up on a 1290R to two up on an ATAS DCT. We both preferred the latter .
I have a nagging suspicion the NT1100 DCT could be utterly brilliant!!

I am actually so gobsmacked about this comment

How fecking dare you?! You’ll be hearing back from the parading vein brigade in no time at all.

I actually think it looks very well......does that make me... eh.....blind??

Obviously we will have to see it in the flesh but I think Honda may have pulled a master stroke with this.

Looks like I’m out of luck then. With my little legs. :D

URBAN PACK

50L top box with inner bag, comfort back rest, 4.5L tank bag.

TOURING PACK

Rider/pillion comfort seats, comfort pillion footpegs and fog lights.

VOYAGE PACK

50L top box with inner bag, comfort back rest, 4.5L tank bag, rider/pillion comfort seats, comfort pillion footpegs and fog lights.

Anybody got a price on above yet?

Update, e Mail from dealer, Voyage pack is £1,330. So a DCT with said pack is £14,329 OTR. Looking more and more a bargain in today’s climate. (Subject to test ride)

But how much power is enough ?

It’s not that long ago 100hp was a powerful bike.

I’ve been riding bikes with around 100bhp for 20 years. Some felt quick, others not. How a bike feels, and whether it feels fast, is about more than just peak power; I wish I knew how to tell, other than by a test ride. I swapped a KTM950 SMR for a GS 1200 TC. The GS was more powerful, but the KTM felt faster. :nenau:nenau

Just about to jump on a go for a ride.

Be good to have your first impressions of the NT. more DCT's in the line up

Riding position is very comfy with great seat/bar/peg triangle .
Lovely torquey motor and the DCT is as good as ever.
Great to have Google map on screen via Apple Car Play.
I think it’ll be a big seller to those who don’t need a £30k Multi PP to compensate for the stump between their legs :-)

Did you get a chance to try it 2 up?

How’s the screen and seat comfort? (NB. a bit of wind on a motorcycle is acceptable to me ;))

Hey Arsey, does the riding position feel much different to the Africa Twin?
